Prometheus class

just for the record the Nebula class had somehow managed to overtake the Prommie. Presumably in order to do this the Nebula was 'flying itself a part' and could very well blown up on it's own accord.

If I remember correctly the Romulan Warbird when struck showed no shield flares- meaning it's shields were down & it had also been taking fire from other starships.

Now theres a kewl possibility.
That explains Nebula but what about a 10,000 units old Akira Class and two warp 8.5 Defiant Class ships catching up in time to join the battle if this ship is supposed to be faster than Voyager?

...There's that parallel thread there that probably summoned this one out of the deep. Zombies and Doppergängers!

Are romulans stupid? How come they haven't noticed that he's not wearing the same uniform as the rest of the starfleet crew?

Now that's not being discussed in the parallel tech thread. But I wonder... Wouldn't the ah so villainy and conservative Romulans be solid supporters of segregation of man and machine? Wouldn't they expect a hologram to be clad differently, subserviently?

Umm, in the episode, the Prometheus was doing quite a bit of standing still, and quite a little of running at full throttle. It shouldn't have been difficult to catch up with her.

The jury's out on whether the ship ever reached her supposed maximum speed during the episode. The onboard EMH says the ship's at warp 9.9 after destroying the Bonchune; that's not yet "faster than Voyager"...

All sorts of things could have held her back: not quite completed drive system; limiters put in place for the time of test runs and not removed by the Romulans; incompetence by the Romulans in operating the ship; damage suffered when the Romulans took over the ship. Or then unwillingness of the Romulans to put the ship through the strain. Or even willingness of the Romulans to let their sole pursuer catch up with them, so that a combat test could be performed... That would leave the second-closest pursuers so far behind that Starfleet might lose track of the hijacked ship, which would be much preferable to running away from the Bonchune but remaining on her sensors.
