Project: The Ds9 Market

Well, I've started a new project for a 3D, wallpaper sized still. I'm going to start with the Inca model from a couple months ago and the horga'hn I modeled in February, and work these into a larger scene. This is going to mostly be a project in modeling and composition.

Here's the vision:
I imagine a small shop located on Ds9, slightly run down and dusty with a lot of unique archaeological "artifacts," ancient chess sets from Earth, Klingon weapons and ritual artifacts, masks, Kurlan naiskos, and all kinds of neat little trek-related trinkets, Kanar bottles, Cardassian/Romulan items-- and ultimately a strange, hooded, Lurian shop keep... maybe some kind of antique strategema set? This will be my thread to log my progress, I'll be posting some rough concept art soon.

Where I'd love some help:
Please suggest some ideas for strange, esoteric little artifacts from any number of Trek series or books that would make for an interesting model. I expect there to be many models in the background-- some from Earth, some from elsewhere, but I would like the image to be consistent (so no Bajoran orbs or anything that would be impossible for it to be in a little store like this). My knowledge of TOS stuff is the least developed, so ideas from there are very helpful.

Antiques? try old mechanical clocks from other worlds, like with 4 or 5 hands and a tripple moon calendar, from Earth an original IBM XT and VCR's maybe a DVD player, watches are always nice, then things like old weapons, old clothing would be nice as well, then of course kitchy art-ish stuff like vases and glass work, some paintings maybe, books are an option, then of course lamps ,cuttlery and maybe some ship models, totem poles in various sizes and then gadgets like a Victorinox Swiss knife or the Romulan equivalent of that and of course starmaps and the like and globes.

These ideas are fantastic. I really like the idea for outer world clocks, books would be great-- stained glass... hmmm this is really great.

I will have a model of the original "Gort" for you shortly; everything is done but the hands. Could look good inconspicuously stocked on a shelf ...
