I was going over the Official UK X Box magazine looking for the review of Assassins Creed 2 (9.0 btw ;)) and came across this bit of news, which must be a very recent addition to the site since other game websites still to pick it up...

OXM

The motion-sensing hardware is being planned for release in November 2010 and will cost less than £50

No Natal-supported titles have been confirmed but Microsoft says there will be 14 games ready for Natal when the hardware is launched.

Since this is coming from OXM I think its pretty accurate and for that price I will be buying it :techman:

I always expected a Christmas 2010 release date because this years E3 clearly shown that Natal was already pretty far ahead compared to the pitiful Sony's attempt show at E3. I've read several reports a few weeks back that some game reporters had the chance to test out Natal and while they said it needed more work and was only 60% complete, that it was a lot of fun and a late 2010 release date seemed likely.

Well the SMC or Wand or whatever is coming out in the Winter with Resident Evil 5 support... so it seems like this is kind of late.

A hundred bucks for a camera though... I mean, I'm sure it's interesting technology, but man.

^ this is one of those times when its good to be be british £50 instead of $100 but then again they may knock down the U.S price a bit to compensate. The SONY wand at E3 looked awfully akward and it was clear that they were behind Natal. Rumors at E3 were SONY was totally caught offguard by Natal being shown at E3 and rushed to put something together to show off, so I wonder if Sony are rushing the entire production of there wand.

I still think Natal is the one to beat.

EDIT - Just watched a video of RESSIE 5 being shown off and the reporter tagged with the story seems less than impressed...

Now, the aiming looks good but I do have one complaint. You see the Capcom fellow in the video? What he’s holding? He’s holding a motion controller and a DualShock 3. The DualShock 3 is for aiming while the controller is for shooting.

The Sony wand aims well thats nothing special, Natal is aiming to be a lot more than a well...a WAND, which is still a controller.

Unless Microsoft can bring out some really impressive software for Natal I'm not even going to bother, the E3 demonstration was pretty disapointing. The software was all obviously in an early state though so who knows what they'll be able to bring out by fall of next year.

I'm almost certain we'll see Microsoft relaunch the 360 hardware, with each console coming with Natal and a demo/Wii Sports like game (not necessarily a sports game, but a game to show off what the Natal can do) when it comes out.

Well seeing as OXM got their info from MVC who in turn seem to have got the info from a secret source i would take it all with a pinch of salt until some official word is given on price and release date, as of yet this is all still unconfirmed.

They are ripping off the Wii controls that they made for RE4 Wii. That makes sense.

Here's the thing, unless you just want to play that stupid ball game where you flail your arms around, how do you move in a game where the camera is the only input? How do you change the camera angle?

It'll be interesting for mini-games like 90% of the Wii games out there or weird projects like Milo... but Halo 4: PQRST Post-Modern Conflict 5? Probably not so much.

I wish I could find the quotes of the Xbox executives who mocked the Wii and the idea of motion-controlled games.
