PROGENY: Blood of Tiberius

So... does this mean Gates McFadden has dropped out? While I'd love to see her in Trek again, that doesn't diminish my interest in Progeny. I'm just curious.

You know, now I want to see a crossover film that has Livia Avitus (Kirk's grand-daughter) interacting with Lexxa Singh (Khan's daughter). Even though both work for the same "team", would there be bad blood between the two?

Things aren't looking good for Progeny; with three days left on their campaign and a IndieGoGo goal of $90,000, they have raised...$0.

How does a Star Trek fan film project manage to raise no money? Maybe it's the current climate, but there's always someone willing to toss a few bones in a fan film's direction.

They did have some donations at one point, but it looks like their money has been refunded.

Hey Trek Fans.
I'm the writer of Exec Prod/Writer of Progeny and (I know it's a little dated) I just saw this post by searching and wanted to give you an update on the status of this "Star Trek Fan Production."

To answer some questions:
Gates McFadden did read the script and was on board to play "Ellison", but dropped out after the Axanar lawsuit came out. Everyone else was still on board and Marie Howard was slotted into the role.

The campaign was disastrous. Mostly due to bad marketing, and a little due to the bad timing of the lawsuit.

After the disastrous campaign to raise the funds I thought it was dead in space, but I did, and still do think I have an interesting take on what happens after Kirk, Spock, and McCoy escape from the Roman planet in "Bread and Circuses". Nobody ever mentions that they left a tricorder, communicators, and a few phasers.

After the rules came out, I tried to have the IMDB page erased, but it hasn't happened yet.

Last month, I retooled it as a 3d animated series. (I'm going to bend the rules a little.)
As of right now, I've been working on the Characters in DAZ 3d, doing test animations, and having a blast doing it in my spare time.
