Production looking for VFX artists

Hello fellow trekkers,

I’m working on a pretty ambitious project and currently looking for 3D and 2D artists. If anyone here is interested please contact me in private at jackoverfull@gmail.com

The project is set in mid 23th century, will be filmed with live actors and there are several space battle scenes, we aim at a classic trek feel and hope to find artists able to convey it while also making the scenery detailed, more in private.

I think you would get potentially more interest if you shared more details here instead of expecting people to reach out to you. For instance...
  1. What's the filmmaking experience of your team?
  2. How far long in the process are you? Concept? Is there a finished script?
  3. What sort of 2D work are you looking for? On-set graphics? Tactical animations? Textures for 3D.

Thanks for the suggestion, here are some details.

1. The experience is very varied. We got an experienced director that can also handle composing, the proposed cast is mostly cosplayers, some with acting experience, some without. We're currently at casting stage, the cosplayers surely look amazing, we'll be trying to select people that can act for real.

2. There is a full script for a 30 minutes movies (probably quite a bit more, but we're trying to stay within the Fan Films Guidelines). We're at casting stage and there is a plan to build the bridge set for real, almost everything else will have to be virtual. We're the first Italian Star Trek fan film (so far, anyway!) and the movie will be filmed in Rome, a detailed FX script has been translated to English, as it's unlikely that any interested party will read Italian. The plan is also to have the movie subtitled (or, even better, dubbed) in English, eventually.

3.All of the mentioned. We've done some researching in the past few days and found some 3D models that are free to use and we like a lot but having more detailed textures on them would be very nice (and the names of the ship will need to be changed, also!). Moreover, the script calls for battle damage and most of it will probably be doable by retexturing parts of the models.

As things stand now, then, we're looking for people able to either build models from scratch or improve and especially animate the existing ones, also we need to have some backgrounds done for the CGI sets and I imagine that could be done in 2D.

Vedo!

While I was nato vicino a Montecchio Maggiore (we moved stateside when I was bambino piccolo. Il mio italiano è scadente, so I can't offer to read the script and give you any assistance there (I am a screenwriter).

I see!
Well, so far everybody seems very happy about the script, actually...I suspect that if we manage to realize it right it will be liked a lot.

What we sorely miss at the moment is 3D/2D artists.
