Priceline and Trek movie "synergy"

The Priceline negotiator (Shatner) calls the guy who's bidding too high "cupcake". A nod to the movie, perhaps?

What does it matter if he was in it or not. Young Kirk said it in the movie, now the actor most associated with the character says it in a commerical. I'm not claiming there's an agenda or anything.

Did Shatner write the lines for the commercial? Because if he did I can't see him paying homage to a movie he wasn't in.
