See, I didn't think TATV was that bad.

Hate? I don't know. I think online opinions tend to be more "forceful" than if discussing it with someone face-to-face. Precious Cargo had an awful actress. The plot was decent -- bratty love interest has been done a lot; it's the basis, imo, on the whole Trip/T'Pol relationship: she's a girl who thinks she's too good for him and he's a country boy with a lot of love and a heart in the right place. Sparks? Meh, I thought the princess and Trip had more than T'Pol and Trip ... granted not much.

I thought Precious Cargo was good TV. Actors were having fun, story was decent if not groundbreaking, and most important, it was a genuine effort to break Trek free of the greyfaced, humorless Trekkie Taliban who demanded every episode of Star Trek be embarrassing pomposity and pretentious moralizing inevitably resolved neatly by an inverse tachyon pulse deus ex machina.

Precious Cargo was FUN! Remember when Trek was fun? You know, the human adventure? TOS? I liked it.

All told, I felt it was a good way to spend an hour of my life.

Precious cargo. another example of demeaning trip. He gives the kidnapper three or four good set up lefts and a hard right. Kidnapper blinks and knocks Trip down with a tap, jumps on hi m and is going to drown poor Trip. Princes runs up and tags the kidnapper with a branch, twice. doubt if she could have got that much force behind the blow but kidnapper is out. Trip hit him harder than that. but, Trip is always shown as weak.

I never really hated any episodes, but this episode was kind of boring, I mean Connor did the best he could with what he was given, but yeah, it was just a "meh" episode for me.

it's a good, solid episode, the kind enterprise was full of. people seem to treat enterprise as a sort of red headed stepchild of star trek, and i'm at a loss to explain why.

As I suspect the majority of viewers don't share your opinion that it was a "good, solid episode" it's not surprising that you would be at a loss to explain why those same viewers found Enterprise lacking as a whole.

I'm not meaning to cause offense here, just saying that if you thought the show was good, why does it matter what other people thought?

I'd say the show was overall the weakest of the 4 new shows, but it still had some very good episodes. Just not nearly enough for me.

I saw Precious Cargo a long time ago and had no idea that was Padma Lakshmi. I think her performance in the Hardee's commercial was significantly better. I wasn't aware of the existence of a messy seductive burger eater.
