Pre Peeled Bananas

The lack of wrapping seems like the perfect opportunity for strangers to insert razor blades and shards of glass into nature's candy and give them to kids on Halloween. Won't someone think of the children?

Really, if you find peeling a banana just too hard to do to the point you're going to buy 3 pre-peeled ones in a package? Just do yourself a favor and starve to death.

The only thing I could... "see" in this is if these were over-ripe bananas "pre-peeled" ready to be used to make banana bread or something.

I'm not even sure who they were marketing those to. I could see pre-peeled bananas being something people doing a lot of food prep for a big restaurant or event that same day (before it bruises) might want to make the process faster, but then they'd order in bulk, not tiny little packages of 2-4 bananas that you'd have to take just as long to unwrap anyway.

So do you think my idea will take off in light of pre-peeled banana's

Coreless Apples
Pre-peeled Oranges
Peeled Carrots
Peeled Potatoes
Peeled Grapes

The peeled oranges and the peeled carrots are widely available around here, mostly sold as snacks in 'controlled atmosphere'-bags though, and peeled potatoes (in jars with water) have been around as long as I have; they're usually referred to as: 'lazy potatoes' (as it is inferred you'd have to be lazy to buy them).

I've worked in food retail for almost two decades and I've never seen them.

The carrots at least, are definitely in Tesco's and M&S (and I'm 99% sure I've seen them in Waitrose too). They're chopped up into batons as well as being peeled. You must have seen them and just mentally blanked them.

I'm 90% certain I've seen ready-segmented peeled oranges too, but wouldn't swear to it. You can certainly get them as part of those little boxes of prepared fresh fruit salad though, along with bits of melon, watermelon, grapes and the like.

Oh sure I've seen segmented oranges as part of a pre-prepared fruit salad, but never a whole one peeled sold like that. Same with carrots chopped up into batons etc.. that is different from a whole carrot being sold skinless.
