I thought it was a good standalone episode.

The very few straight Actors out there, are aware of gay people.
I really wish they would go back to 12-13 episode seasons because this one dragged on so much.
Also can someone do some editing? I feel like the show would benefit from a rewrite week after week.
It was fine, it's better than the Super Bore. I'll give it a 5.5-6. The preaching is just too much. Also whatever happened to the black guy who was watching the birds? No one seemed to care.

Decent fast paced episode that did get preachy, but reasonably accurate where it comes to how humanity is fouling its nest before it goes to crazytown.
Seriously, the science was absolutely ridiculous to the point of working completely against the message. I mean a bacteria causing plastic to act like cancer in the human body causing it to disintegrate? That's nuttier than the giant poisonous maggots from The Green Death.
Doomwatch, from way back in 1970 actually showed us how realistically terrifying a plastic eating bacteria would be to our civilization.

I don't know, this really didn't do it for me. Not really a bad episode, just very meh and didn't really measure up to last week's high note. Got on an environmental kick again, though I agree it was nowhere near as preachy or heavy handed as Orphan 55 was. This kind of reminded me of Resolution in that the guest cast was so overfilling/bursting, though at least the TARDIS team was fully utilized this week. It did seem a bit misleading, we get such a pivotal episode to the season's arc last week that ends on a cliffhanger leading into this episode, which one would assume means this will also contribute to the season's arc in some manner, but instead it's essentially a standalone episode, last week's cliffhanger notwithstanding.

My thoughts exactly. I was all excited to see something to keep up the level from last week and we get......this. A big pile of "Meh." A full episode of nothing special that really adds nothing to the season.
It doesn't matter if it's accurate, it needs to handle the message better. This is a Star Trek forum, Trek has always been about commentary of the modern word set in a fantastical universe. It works 90% of the time.
These are just preachy. Like the episode stops for the Doctor to bitch to the other characters about environmentalism. Then goes on for some normal Doctor Who garbage that makes no sense but we don't care. Take the time to fit the message into the episode instead of just throwing in it.
Also, no one saved the black guy on the beach watching the birds. No one saved the mother and daughter in Orphan 55. But the gay guy gets saved. At least save the others too, or at least care.
7. It was a decent romp. Not sure a plastic eating alien pathogen make sense. I guess we should clean the plastic to avoid those plastic eaters! That's how plastic will end the world. But, it's DW!
I did like how it was a globe trotting story and the TARDIS was used to good effect to connect the various dots. We hadn't seen it used for that purpose so extensively before.
There were some staggeringly bad decisions in this episode though. Why oh why would the Doctor take the astronaut out of the TARDIS and try to treat him in some isolated lab in a hut on Madagascar. It turned out to be overs-supplied--but she didn't know that. Plus, once she saw the birds, right back into the TARDIS--which undoubtedly has more advanced equipment, as it was confirmed.
And, letting Yaz go by herself back into that alien infested warehouse was another one. Only made slightly better with the other girl going. But, geez, not a smart move. Aliens were just shooting at them with energy weapons.
But, I enjoyed it overall. Chibnall seems really reluctant to use real antagonist. Sure, Suki was one, kind of. But, it was really the Doctor et al. against the pathogens! Chibnall needs to get over that hang up. Yeah, I know, he had the Master . . .

Unless it had been a direct continuation of last week, that was kind of inevitable.
Stupid decisions aside (and they really are a thing in Who -we should be used to it) it was a decent episode.
Was it just me... or did end with the surviving characters feel like set up for a new set of companions?
I think Jake, Adam and Gabriela would be more interesting companions than the current ones.
Another good episode and a far better environmental story than last time.
I don't know why they couldn't just look out a window to keep an eye on the birds, but I have no sympathy for the guy that was killed by them, he had wandered quite a bit away from the the beach hut lab so he had no-one to blame buy himself.
The doctor said the cure worked on humans so does that mean all the birds are just going to keep falling out the sky?
Why the hell did the backpackers not leave and camp a few miles back away from the rubbish tip?
I have quibbles but I did like it, anything would be a bit of a let down after last week, this would have been my favourite in a long time otherwise.

I quite like Yaz and Graham but I don't think Ryan adds much, however this was a good episode for Ryan.
We learnt this week that it feels titillatingly good to grope Ryan's chesticals.
If there's a baddie who is into boys, on a mission of evil, and the Doctor needs 10 minutes to save the world, Ryan's heroic chest is a sexy diversion, that'd even keep a few Dalek sucker plungers occupied long enough until the humans declare victory.
Of the three current companions I like Graham the most, the other two are sort of in the middle of the pile when it comes to my liking of the companions.
Facilities that would take time to find, time they didn't have. I doubt even the Doctor has been much inside past the console room since the TARDIS 'redecorated,' and she would have to be the one to look since anybody else would be hopelessly lost within a couple minutes.
The TARDIS is usually more helpful than that and puts vital rooms nearby. She can move them about, as seen when she kept hiding Clara's bedroom in the early days.
