I believe Coldplay only released 1 good CD, and that was a "A Rush of Blood to the head" Agree with suggestions of Nirvana's Nevermind, Jeff Buckley's Grace and The Beatles' Abbey Road. Some CDs I think are Practically Perfect:- Radiohead - Okay Computer Radiohead - The Bends The Strokes - This is it Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I am, that's what I am not Regurgitator - UNIT Powderfinger - Internationalist
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd Sabotage - Black Sabbath Master of Puppets - Metallica Far Beyond Driven - Pantera Blast Tyrant - Clutch Ænima - Tool
"Ten" by Pearl Jam Can I count the "MTV Unplugged" album by Nirvana? "Abbey Road" by The Beatles I guess I should leave classical music and soundtracks out of this. Or else there would be a lot of Tchaikovsky.
"Pet Sounds" - The Beach Boys “Led Zeppelin IV” - Led Zeppelin “Boston” - Boston "The Ramones" - The Ramones “Bat out of Hell” – Meatloaf “Never mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols” - Sex Pistols "Parallel Lines" - Blondie "The Cars" - The Cars “Armed Forces” – Elvis Costello "London Calling" - The Clash “Breakfast in America” - Supertramp “New Traditionalists” – DEVO "Tattoo You" - The Rolling Stones "Graceland" - Paul Simon "Paul's Boutique" - Beastie Boys
A Night at the Opera - Queen Tiny Music - Stone Temple Pilots Angel Dust - Faith No More 1965 - The Afghan Whigs Powerburns - Twilight Singers Those 5 have been in my "just been played" pile next to the CD player for years and years.
Sticky Fingers, The Stones. That was a perfect album. I am surprised at all the Boston/Boston mentions. I think it's a perfect album myself, but IIRC, at the time it was poopoo'd because there was controversy as to whether or not those guitars were really being played or if the harmonizing guitars were done in the studio. Or am i just having another acid flashback?
From start to finish, considering both the lyrics and the music, my "perfect album" is a tie between: Honorable mention would go to: (American IV: The Man Comes Around)
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue I'm also rather fond of Chicago Transit Authority although that's more "honorable mention" territory.
