*Potential Spoilers* What will the Alternate Enterprise-A look like

To be fair, a lot of digital models have disappeared over the years from various and Sunday reasons. The Norway from FC, for example and the Son’a ships from Insurrection immediately come to mind, as evidenced by Eaglemoss having to rebuild them from scratch for their model line. It is a good thing if the 2009+ movie models have been saved. Maybe we’ll see them in all their finery one day in an official publication - likely a compilation book from Eaglemoss. I’m more interested in the background ships than the sundry Enterprises, anyway. The Light Works renders, as old as they are, are still considered the definitive orthos on those ships that I’ve seen, despite their inaccuracies.

Long gone? Important movie assets (Enterprise CG studio models) are saved and backed up. I know for a fact the original CG studio models of the 1701 and 1701-A still exist. I know because...well, reasons...

Then I’m curious as to why we’ve never seen them.

Eaglemoss used the ILM 1701 model from 2009 to do their cover art for the booklet that came with the first JJprise model. Eaglemoss then used the separate version of the Double Negative 1701 from Beyond for their Beyond JJprise model release.

ILM's...

Were the CG models “tight” enough for toys and such? I understand some CG doesn’t lend itself to prints.

Maybe AI to the rescue?

A program to have a “print” be in a medium that exists only in computer, such that something like motion smoothing glides things over, as opposed to individually knitting loose lines together?

Good turnaround of the Enterprise-A from that mobile game here (8:35 mark):

And a Minecraft version from our very own @JackSP

Check out their Enterprise-A build here:

Interesting. I didn't know Fleet Command ever added the 1701-A. That's cool. I also did a photorealistic turnaround of the 1701-A in this breakdown. It's at 0:49.

Thank you.

I would like to see you do some modular secondary hulls so you could mix and match different saucers, pylons, nacelles, etc.

So I got the 1701-A 3d printed...

Files from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1423364 and printed with PA12 material, very sturdy and the details come out fairly well. Aside from the goof with the deflector dish (idk if it snapped off or if it wasn't printed) I'm really happy with this. I also got 3d prints of the 09 and Beyond Enterprises so that everything is in the same scale, the family portrait looks great lol.

Wasn't a fan of this design at first but it's definitely grown on me. It has some stunning angles, especially that 2nd pic.
