POTD Trailer! (NOT an April Fool.)

Is it me, or are the aliens Sovereign class?

From this angle, more like Intrepid (IMHO)

daylight version of Pitch Black with a little flight of phoneix chucked in for good measure.

Hmm, looks an awful lot like a redo of Midnight to me. Different setting, and this time we get to SEE the monsters... but it's still the same basic idea of the Doctor trapped somewhere with a bunch of civilians. Nothing wrong with that idea, it just seems a little too soon to bring it back is all.

That said, I have to admit the desert setting DOES look pretty cool.

The Doctor being trapped somewhere with a group of civilians is also a synopsis of "Voyage of the Damned". A drastically different story, I'm sure you'll agree.

Oh, and also 93% of all Troughton stories.

True, but the Titanic was a gigantic spaceship and the shuttle in Midnight was basically just a glorified bus like the one we see here (with the same kind of confined, claustrophobic space).

It's not a huge deal though. And I suspect the desert scenes are only a small part of the larger story anyway.

Nah I'm in the Intrpid camp, definitely Voyager.

Does this mean the Doctor will meet The Doctor? ;)

Not to give any details away but there's a lot more than one location (on more than one planet) in the story so only a very superficial similarity.

The EMH met the Sontarans. They appeared in two episodes. "Tinker, Tenor, Doctor, Spy" was one, and I'm blanking on the title of the other.

My thoughts exactly.

The woman seen saying "Run!" looks similar to the woman from "Midnight" but perhaps older and slightly heavier.

Possibly a very cool episode. Can't wait!

BTW, that lady we saw talking...that's not the same actress that played the unnamed air hostess in Midnight, is it? I've only seen Midnight once, so I can't remember and I'm far too lazy to look it up right now. Anyone?

THANK you! I thought I was the only one.

Think RTD is following up Midnight? The Unknown Big Bad of Midnight could end up being who kills The Doctor? That would be a cooler topper for his Doctor...

oooh! OR---> The Beast/Sutekh from Satan Pit IS the corporeal creature from Midnight, its evil having escaped the Black Hole. And Midnight was just a subtle setup for the 10th Doctor's final showdown with the creature...a showdown the 10th Doctor won't survive!

THAT would be cool!
