When was the last time you either sent or received a postcard? I am not talking about eCards but regular cards.

For me - it must have been about 4 years ago. Back then I was a member of Postcrossing which worked like this

You request an address and a Postcard ID
Mail the postcard to that address
Receive a postcard from another postcrosser!
Register the Postcard ID you have received
Go to number 1 to receive more postcards!

Postcrossing got too much for me after I announce on the Postcrossing forums that I bought a dozen Antarctic cards and asked if anyone wanted one. Within a week more than 50 people wanted one and I went and bought more. Even after I said I didn't have any more people kept contacting me begging for one.

I might start Postcrossing again but without going into the forums, or at least not offering any Antarctic cards in the forums.

Um...the last one I can remember was probably back in 2003 or 2004 when I was on my Habitat for Humanity trip in New Orleans.

The last one I got was from Trekkiedane, a picture of Odense, Denmark. That was a few years ago, now.

I keep looking for a decent one to send him, but no one around here sells them any more. I wish I could find some good ones, I SO want to send him one. I'd love to get a post card or...maybe about a million of them.

The last one I sent was from a trip to Puerto Vallarta in the late 90s.

The last one I received was from my Grandparents on their RV tour throughout Canada in either 2004/05.

I received a postcard last year from a friend in Seattle. I can't remember the last time I sent a postcard. I don't send them from overseas anymore - not since I got a digital camera and can send photos to friends and family via email....

It was on March 2010. When I travel abroad, I use to send a real postcard to my boyfriend.

I still keep receiving postcards. One of my buddies from school likes to send them from awesome places such as Egypt or New York City.

It's kind of weird, he's very much a techy, but I guess he's just old-fashioned that way. I certainly enjoy getting them! :techman:

Sending out and receiving both 2010. I usually receive and send out a few nearly every year.

I have no idea the last time I sent a postcard. Therefore, it must have been a good few years now at least.

Not in the last decade, at least. I used to send (and receive) a lot of postcards with family and friends, but nobody does it anymore around here. I kind of liked it, but I don't think I really miss it.

When my Dad was alive, he traveled for business from time to time. He always sent me these awesome ones from wherever he was, usually 2 or 3 in a week long trip.

When I got older, and especially when he was sick, I'd send them to my parents from wherever I happened to end up. My in -laws also send us several per year. I never knew this was a fad that dried up.

I guess the last time I sent one was in 2008 when I went to Hawaii with my family and mailed one to my boyfriend. I can't even remember the last time I received one. I really enjoy sending postcards, but I rarely take long enough vacations for it to make sense. Usually I arrive home and call/see the person before they even receive the postcard, so it feels kind of pointless. I have only been on one vacation that lasted longer than a week, and that was to Florida in 2003. I'm sure I sent many postcards then.

I have a friend who still sends real postcards when he travels; last one I received was a couple months ago. The last one I remember sending was in 2007. Before that, it had been years.

I still get a post card once in a while my parents in-law got one from my sister in-law when she was doing the Aids bicycle ride down the coast of California earlier this summer. I sent my parents one from Boston when I was on our honeymoon.

Most members of my family buy and send postcards almost on reflex when they travel on holiday. :) So I receive them regularly.

I'm also in the habit of collecting postcards wherever I go, to add to my collection of pointless keepsakes. Yes, that's right, I buy myself postcards.

It was nine or ten years ago. I was entering a contest, and the rules specified you had to send in your entry via postcard. I thought it was pretty strange, because even back then it had been well over a decade since I had received a postcard from anyone.

I don't send them, but I do sell them. :rommie:

I think the last time I actually sent one was back in the 80s.

The last postcard I sent was about 4-5 years ago (maybe more?) when I went to Florida with my parents, to whoever I was working for at the time, to rub it in. :)

The last one I received was from my sister when she went to Germany for junior year abroad, but she didn't mail it. She brought it home over Christmas break and included it as part of my gift. So does that count?

My kids got one last summer from one of their friends who was in Hawaii. They thought it was the neatest thing.

My wife has 3 photo albums full of postcards from the late 1800's/ early 1900's. Those are pretty neat
