I made this up years ago, but I don't remember ever posting it outside the Briefing Room. If I had to take a guess, I'd say we were discussing adding the show-specific forums (Doctor Who, BSG, Stargate, Lost) at the time.
I don't particularly miss TGT. The guy was a virulent anti-Semite. The comment about U.S. soldiers being like potato chips which cooleddie referenced paled in comparison to some of the things he frequently insinuated in TNZ. It tended to creep into some of his posts outside the Zone as well; his criticisms of TOS movies 2-6 at times seemed to have less to do with the change in style and tone from Roddenberry's TMP, and more to do with the Jewish heritage of producer Harve Bennett, writer/director Nicholas Meyer, and Shatner and Nimoy, who started to flex their muscle behind the camera during that period. I don't remember what he did specifically that got him kicked off for good, but I can guarantee it was pretty abhorrent.

I should post the thread from the Commies' Lounge a few years ago where I threw myself a month-long promotion party. After pirating the thread from MetalPants, I talked like a pirate and fired my cannon the whole time. Got some others to make like pirates too.
With one post remaining before promotion, I went silent and lurked for the next two weeks while others continued with the thread. Everyone figured I had departed, although I don't think anyone noticed that my rank was still the same. After fifteen days, I popped up again with a final "gotcha!" post.

Actually, I'm cheating. My grammar is better than that of most posters here but my vocabulary is quite limited as I forgot so many words over the last decades. Since I am rather fluent and know ways to paraphrase what I mean, you don't notice how few words I actually use.
I love those screen shots! Looks like I missed quite some fun while I was gone.
Does anyone recall the duals back from 2001? It took Lisa 6 months to realize that Rethgill was (the banned) Lighter backwards.
And what a shame they banned Che's dual Lord of the Onion Rings. It was such a good name!
