I still have my 2004 Ford Focus ZX3, 2.3 L PZEV 4-cylinder engine, 145 hp. Actual fuel economy for me is around 20 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. Here's an older pic that I haven't posted here before.
Last summer, I lost an argument with an SUV that had an absurdly high rear bumper.
Unplanned upgrades included a new hood, grill, and radiator support. Fortunately the bumper, radiator, and condenser were not damaged.
Planned upgrades have included a set of four Goodyear Assurance TripleTred tires to replace the God-awful stock Goodyear Eagle RS-As. I also replaced the battery a couple of weeks ago, as the five-year-old stock battery was starting to get flaky. I'll be replacing the spark plugs and doing an oil change in the next few weeks, as well as checking the wiring to the speaker in the driver's-side door (repeated slamming of the door has loosened a connection).
