Post Your Pad

Yes, I mean pad as in room, home, or abode, not as in data PADD, lol. I figured this might be a fun topic, just for the heck of it, so we can all see what kinds of environments get our creative juices flowing. I'll start...

Here's my desk, desk wall, and DVD collection, as well as the shelves by my closet.

Anyone else want to share pics of their pad? :)

Oh man, I'm going to attack you guys with pictures. These are all clickable thumbnails I don't have pics of the condo we're currently in because it's tiny, but here are the views we have which I think are awesome:

This is the townhouse we used to live in that's still on the market (any buyers?):

And finally, just because I'm really proud of my parents, they have a beautiful home, and I spend a lot of time there:

Wow... you live in a beautiful place, Kestra! Your previous townhome was awesome, as is the home of your parents.

Thanks! I didn't post the pic to brag or anything, I'm just really proud of what my parents have accomplished. My dad came to this country in his twenties and he basically had less than $10 in cash. He didn't even know if he'd make enough money to get back to India to see his parents again. So yeah, it's just a house, but it symbolizes a lot to me.

 You guys are shaming me: I'd have to clean for a week and buy some new curtains before I would dare post pictures of my apartment.

tsq and Kestra, you both have very attractive homes. tsq, I especially like your living room: the black furniture goes very well with the polished wood. Kestra, I wish I had your office: I love the red walls.

And Bolian--what can I say? Your workspace is a geek's paradise. The classic Mac is particularly nice touch.

I'm at work today, so for what they're worth, here are some pictures of my office--a converted classroom in a forty-year-old building. Ah, the glamorous life of the university professor! But I've tried to make myself at home.

Looks more like images of your collections than of your pad, BA :rommie:

My place needs a major clean-up, but I have some images from last winter that illustrate how I live (except I changed one of the monitors to a better type/size and both of them now stand on the table on either side of the sight-line from my place to the TV):

When I put the webcam between the monitors on the table, this is how it sees me:

@ Goliath; Thanks! I am quite fond of that old Mac, especially since it still WORKS perfectly, lol. I even still have the original big and bulky "click" mouse that came with it.

@ sidious618; Yeah, well, they don't get a vote... it's my shelf, lol. :P

I too was wondering about that one; is it the model with the signatures inside?

^

Not sure what you mean about signatures inside. Then again, I've never looked inside of it. It's a Macintosh Classic, and I have the original mouse and keyboard that came with it, and the microphone box you see beneath it is still shrink-wrapped, with the brand-new original mike inside.

^Jobs had the team that designed the Mac sign their names inside a prototype chassis -afaik the first generation had the signatures molded into the case

All the pics are great but I absolutely love this first one. It looks like the perfect office to me. You can't go wrong with being surrounded by books!

Yes, there's something very comforting about it.

Until you have to change offices. Then it's hell.

What do you teach?

History.

You're all so tidy! Might be time to start another messy desk/workspace/abode thread again . . .
