So, my desktop, comprising of a 22" laptop and a 27" 2nd monitor, uses Win10 and rotates my huge selection of wallpapers every hour. May put more up later.
On the left is a typical Australian country cottage from the mid-late19th Century, long abandoned. On the right is a waterfall in, I believe, Iceland.

I have a whole sequence of big round mysterious things, some in orbit, some as impressionist paintings, some through mountains. Obviously can't call them stargates, so I call them timegates. On the right, a screencap from the video for Nightwish's 'Elan'.

I love that picture with the rings, very Star gatey.... Where did you find it though? Story or just art?
All I did was google wallpapers, and the motif seemed to crop up regularly.
Take this one. I searched "wallpapers gateways". This popped up in first search. it's actually the Falkirk Wheel (look it up, it's very cool), but this image makes it look like something else.

How many here just have their motherboard logo when booting or disable that and just have the POST screen show up during a boot?
I dip between the two depending on mood for the last 3 months it's been a POST screen

Halfway through a Stargate Atlantis "watch" from blu-ray rips, so I'm having the opportunity for some good screencaps.
Atlantis is neat, I tried to do something like that in Sketchup but it became overly complicated and a bit mess. I ended up doing a Pyramid shopping mall / housing thing.

I have 2 screens, the wallpapers rotate on a daily basis. This is what it is right now. The left one is from a local photgrapher taken not far from where I live.
Yesterday's was J-Lo in her 50th birthday suit. Not entirely suitable for here. I have many portraits, some male, some female. Good looking people. Also have a LOT of landscapes.

It's been a bit, but I saw it had some recent posts! Firstly, hello @Avro Arrow! Secondly, awesome desktop, @Australis. We have places here where I live that look like that (the fence, not the cat).
I currently have the default KDE 5.26 wallpaper (dark mode), because I can't decide what I want and so I use the default to kind of "cleanse the palate" until I can make a choice. Still, I do like it, it's minimal, streamlined, sleek, kind of cool, IMO. Also, yeah, I love a minimal desktop. No icons, few menus, just nice and clean.
