Post your craziest personal headcanon for Dr Who

OK fun thread hopefully. Post your craziest personal headcanon thst is related to Dr Who or could be part of Dr Who.

I'm going to start with this one which i wish could have been part of Dr Who.

In the Star Trek Enterprise episode "future tense" they find a small ship drifting in space and bring it onboard. They examine the ship to find to their surprise thst it is bigger on the inside than the outside.

It's my personal canon that the ship was some kind of TARDIS but proper, the way it's supposed to look without an exterior disguise.

Feel free to post your own.

My craziest headcanon would be that the Time War in DW influenced the Prime timeline of Star Trek, to the point that any differences in ENT/DISCO/SNW with the previous canon are a result of that conflict as a kind of aftershock that reverberated through the multiverse. The Primeverse was just affected the least, bust significantly enough.

I love this

Nope.

To be fair, this topic is specifically about the "craziest" ones...

...which is probably taken up by the "Pet Theories" thread.

Huh. I though I'd mentioned my old "Donna is the Doctor's mother" theory, which I guess is now well and truly out, since her mental block has been relieved so the key element of Baby Doctor accidentally reminding her of their adventures and unintentionally blowing up her brain is totally out the window (plus, the Doctor has no mother, apparently).

But in that episode with James Bond, I mean Rassilon there was that woman hiding her face I thought she was the Doctor's mother. Plus Donna had a magic daughter that helped with her not having brain explosions

I think I first developed the theory before "The End of Time." Besides, I always thought the Unnamed Woman made more sense as Susan, or Susan's mother. It's harder to disappoint a child than a parent, and the Doctor seemed very moved by the thought of her judging him for killing in cold(ish) blood.

OK very good point there

Here's one I stole from reddit

Wilf is the doctors dad.

It sounds weird but Wilfred Mott is timelord wtf 🤣

But the fact the person who RTD said is the doctors mother only appears to Wilf makes sense if there's a connection. She said he was too late for the war as well, which could be the second world war but could also be the time war and then the line I would be proud to be your dad.

Even if not, I'd be surprised if RTD wasn't trying to tease it as a possibility

Gallifrey is Earth some billions of years in the future and the Time Lords are the descendants of modern humans. That's why Earth in "the past" is so strategically important and why the Doctor is so fond of it.

Don't think the Master would be quite so cavalier about fucking with Earth history (especially with the Toclafane decimation) if that were the case.

When Earth history has been removed (see latest series) there's never been any concern from the Doctor that they would cease to exist as well.

Besides, we see Earth destroyed in Eccleston's series. Humanity still exists then and aren't Time Lords - even if Time Agents exist.

There were hints in the old novels that humanity would one day EXCEED the Time Lords, with the TARDIS having a forward travel limit (Frontios) set by when the human "noosphere" overtook that of the TLs. This was also why some of the missions the TLs sent the Doctor on were aimed at limiting human time travel experiments - perhaps to delay them becoming a competitor?

I omit things from the "official canon" that don't match my "personal canon". I enjoy it more that way. In general, trash episodes never happened.

My alternative head canon is that the Doctor was telling the truth when he said that "The Daleks" takes place two million years in Earth's future. Skaro is an Earth colony and the Thals and Dals (no Kaleds) are Earth humans who descended from the original Skaro colonists.

So no Kaleds means you consider Genesis of the Daleks a trash set of episodes?

Because if you DID have to consider it, you'd have to take into account Harry (a human) having NO biological factors in common with Kaleds or Thals...

But the 2 million years in Earth's future thing is also contradicted by Dalek Invasion of Earth since these Daleks are so primitive they can't possibly have travelled in time to invade (and if they WERE that advanced, invading wouldn't net them anything worth taking).

RTD did say in The Writer's Tale that it was his intention that she was in fact the Doctor's mother, though he refrained from making it explicit in the episode since he felt doing so would be corny and he liked the idea of fans coming up with their own theories on who she is.

Go take a nap, Matt. This isn't that serious.
