Been dooling around in lightwave again the last few days and decided to take on something a little less intimidating than a whole ship.

Also working on both rifle and stock-less variants. Will probably make low-poly versions afterward to practice some game art with normal maps and whatnot.

Would love to hear some crits and commentary before I get to that point.

The plasma bursts definitely seem very liquified to me rather than energetic. Not sure if it's just me, or if that's part of the intent. I think you've nailed the period feel with the shapes you're using.

Yeah, the intention was to give it a sort of strange 'liquid-energy' look to get away from the standard 'beam of light' we usually see. It doesn't quite work yet, but It is under constant change and if I up the particle count it looks a lot less like it is shooting orange soda.
