Post A Brief TOS Dialogue Line--Let Others Identify The Episode

You're thinking correctly--a line Benny Russell echoes in "Far Beyond the Stars," btw, a sly call-back suggesting that all of Star Trek flowed from his imagination and that Daystrom was a forerunner of Ben Sisko.

"He's a boy, he doesn't know what life is."

Correct. What's funny about this line is that Spock recites it with an air of surprise after hearing a native speak on the planet surface. Yet, before beaming down to the planet, the landing party had witnessed an entire news broadcast from the planet . . . in English.

Possibly the result of script rewrites during shooting, or the fact that scenes aren't shot in order. Stuff changes and its hard to keep track under the time pressure to get done.

Like in The Corbomite Maneuver, Ted Cassidy pronounces "Balok" with a "long A" sound in post production, but on set they use the "short A" sound.
