Possible SIICKY: What MOVIE did you watch today, old, new, whatever

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Thought it might be interesting to have a real movie thread: you never know what people are going to pop in.

Me, to get psyched for JJ's Trek, I watched Trek 3, and was intrigued with the possibility that Spock (post III) is actually a CLONE.

Re: Possible SIICKY: What MOVIE did you watch today, old, new, whateve

The only TV I watched today was the Dom DeLuise episode of SG-1, 'Urgo'.

I did, however, go to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine at a Sunday matinee with a buddy of mine. We both agreed it was alright, if a bit bloodless - not enough gore, considerin' the combatants were usin' really sharp objects to hurt one another.

Re: Possible SIICKY: What MOVIE did you watch today, old, new, whateve

I'll second the motion for this to be stickied.

Not today, but last night I watched Sweeney Todd - 5/10 - better to listen to than to watch. I knew it was a musical, so that isn't the problem. The problem is Tim Burton's fetishising of Johnny Depp - it needed to be more grand guignol, but kept cutting away to long reaction shots of a non-reacting Depp, because - in this flick at least - Burton seems to think that "dark and gothic = Johnny Depp looking constipated." Alan Rickman seems to be phoning in his Snape-performance, and half the time it's too dark to see what's going on anyway...

Yet there's so much promise in it, and I can't help thinking that this would have been a much better movie with a different director and star (Terry Gilliam and Heath Ledger would have been a far better combo for this project than the otherwise usually reliable Burton and Depp.)

Re: Possible SIICKY: What MOVIE did you watch today, old, new, whateve

I watched First Contact on TV last night and then "Fanboys" and (to get some Chris Pine-age going) "Bottle Shock". The former was a little disappointing given how fucking long I've been waiting to see it and the latter boasted an excellent performance by Mr. Pine that removed any lingering doubts I had about him as Kirk.

Re: Possible SIICKY: What MOVIE did you watch today, old, new, whateve

I watched Harrison Bergeron yesterday

Re: Possible SIICKY: What MOVIE did you watch today, old, new, whateve

I watched Enter the Dragon last night.

Semi-pro. Ok, so I have no sophistication.:p

Re: Possible SIICKY: What MOVIE did you watch today, old, new, whateve

No movies watched today yet (it's 17:45).
But I digested some TV:

- Star Trek Voyager: Revulsion
- Star Trek Enterprise: Vanishing Point
- Star Trek The Next Generation: The Perfect Mate

...must love Virgin1 :D

Re: Possible SIICKY: What MOVIE did you watch today, old, new, whateve

The last movie I saw at home was Serenity. The last movie I went to was Knowing. Going to see Star Trek on Friday though!

Re: Possible SIICKY: What MOVIE did you watch today, old, new, whateve

I watched Romeo and Juliet last night.

Tonight I'm going to see Star Trek

Re: Possible SIICKY: What MOVIE did you watch today, old, new, whateve

I watched Hellraiser for the first time last night with DS9's Andrew Robinson. I must say, the Cenobytes played less of a role than I thought they would, but, damn, the stepmother was a real bitch!

Tomorrow night, I'm heading out to the multiplex for a Thursday night, seven o'clock showing of Star Trek :D BOO-YAH!

That's really good fun! I loved Hellraiser, and Andrew is fantastic no matter what.

Now the dilemma for tonight (Wednesday nights are TV dead ones) is: shall I watch an invisible Jessica Alba or not? The movie that is gonna be around HER is not even worth mentioning, but it's still a temptating idea ;)

Decisions decisions...

Eh, if you're going to watch Jessica Alba, you might as well watch her and be able to SEE her... might I suggest Sin City? :)

Re: Possible SIICKY: What MOVIE did you watch today, old, new, whateve

Sin City is not on, and I don't have it in DVD :P
Anyway, I don't need an excuse to watch it like I'd need with Fantastic Four... and let's face it, there's also Alexis Bledel there, who I've to admit, can be even better than the dear Jessica.

I could also ditch the TV and get to read the new WIRED UK issue :D

Re: Possible SIICKY: What MOVIE did you watch today, old, new, whateve

I've recently added some more sci-fi films to my collection and they're what I've watched lately:

Outland (1982)
The Omega Man (1971)
The Thing (1982)
Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984)
Logan's Run (1976)
THX 1138 (1971)
