Possible Ninth Planet (NOT Pluto!)

I hope it's there, I hope it's very large, and I hope it cuts across the orbits of other large bodies so the IAU is forced to revisit that ridiculous definition of "planet." :p:lol:

"Regula I here...lemme get this straight...something you can transplant?..."

... Ha! What's to get straight, though? I never understood her confusion, there. Maybe it's the accent he's wearing ...

Hang on if it was here all along why hasn't its mass or gravity affected other planets and bodies in the solar system?

It would have been more interesting had it been a very high mass rogue body that say cross paths with Saturn or Jupiter then there's excitement

Isn't this exactly what they're saying? That something is affecting other bodies in the solar system and therefor there must be another planet.

^Yes, exactly. Many of the dwarf planets are grouped together, and apparently that has a very very low chance of happening without another large body acting on them.

It wasn't confusion, she was incredulous. As in, "I can't believe you're suggesting this!"

Precisely. There are some irregularities concerning the orbits of known Kuiper belt objects like Sedna. And these new calculations point to the proposed Planet Nine as the culprit.

How long do you think it'll be before the Zachariah Sitchin supporters claim its NIbiru?

conspiracy people always have a book to sell

Isn't this exactly what they're saying?

Stick with your regressive politics threads

So if it's not a planet what did he think he found? So bizzare

it's a simulation, showing a significant gravitational effect , it could be some possible other explanation - a space cloud, a mass of asteroids/comets beyond pluto, thre may exist kind of a miniature globular cluster made of planetesimals remember for a long while people believed pluto was the lone object in the outer solar system, decades later they found it had other planetesimal companions and pluto itself had many moons

Stick with your regressive politics threads

You can't tell people not to engage in a perfectly valid discussion here.
Considering the content of the quoted comment you were obviously trying to troll me.
Do that again and you will receive a warning. Do not use this thread for some personal feud.
Comments to PM.

Actually I had a serious question. I mused on the thought of a rogue planet careening into our solar system, so what would happen if such a body did this and say hit Saturn, Neptune or Jupiter? If it was of sufficient size to not just bounce off or break up.

What are we talking here? Large enough to affect the orbit?
