Charles Collyer, CollyerVFX on InstaGram, posted a video of the final day of shooting of Star Trek Picard. He's the lead VFX guy for Star Trek shows on CBS.

Here's a link to the post: https://www.instagram.com/p/B11X72fANnB/

The clip is in front of a blue screen. Anyhow, the end of the clip included a red gloved hand perched on a stand-in prop for what could be a sceptre. Judge for yourself, but it reminds me a lot of Judge Q:

That's kind of cool. But also kind of shitty if they leaked it and it's true. The final scene being the WTF? cliffhanger makes sense too. Though it could be eluding to a Trek Spiderman crossover. Maybe it's just a red herring.

Whatever it might actually be, there's no way of knowing when the scene takes place just 'cause it was filmed last.

Edit: Also, the wooden "prop" seems to be completely unattached to anything, so more like a stand in for a cane rather than part of a chair. But I could be wrong. ...on the other hand, dude seems to be taking reference snaps as opposed to shooting anything, so who the hell knows? ;)

But there is precedence in shooting the cliffhanger OMG scene at the end since it is often separate from the season story. Similarly Dr. Who tends to film the regeneration scene last with the new Doctor well after the rest of the show is done. It could go either way for sure, but I would give a higher likelihood that if it is Q and was the last scene, that its the cliffhanger and not finishing up an earlier appearance. And that is just based on how shows tend to end these days. Both Disco finales had a post story bit leading into the cliffhanger.

They only did that for the Eccleston to Tennant regeneration, and that was only because filming the rest of that episode completed over a month before Tennant was even cast.

I won't be surprised if they go back to Judge Q, since he was a huge part of "All Good Things", which ST: P ties into somewhat.

That said, it could easily be, well, anything. A guy in a red bodysuit with weird alien arm extensions or stilts?
