...I do think there's a serious threat that ABC might get desperate to do a tawdry spinoff without the creative team, which is the best argument I can think of why the existing creative team should pre-empt any such travesty by doing one of their own.

Better scenario: that ABC continues their quixotic attempts to replicate the success of Lost by imitating various aspects of it and creating shows inspired by those aspects. Wouldn't have anything to do with Lost but if they keep trying, they might actually come up with something decent eventually.

So you want them to extend lost for another year after the episode that has specifically been written to be the last, in a season specifically written to be the last, where pretty much everything will have been explained and characters given definitive conclusions?

Why don't they go the whole hog and film it in Canada with Barry Van Dyke as Jack's long lost brother?
