well, i'll get your back captcalhoun. i don't plan on getting into My Little Pony anytime soon either. some of us must resist!

As Twilight Sparkle said in Friendship is Magic Part 2: "when those elements are ignited by the the spark that resides in the heart of us all, it creates the sixth element: the element of MAGIC!" - you cannot escape Ponyville!

Who doesn't love ponies?

Are they ponies or some sort of mutated cat?

*I resisted the lame sombreros; and I'll resist the pony invasion as well, thank you.

Wow. Pinky has gone a bit Norman Bates. :rommie:

Don't let her colorful exterior fool you; she's a sad and deeply disturbed pony underneath it all. Growing up with strict, humorless, religious fundamentalist parnets and siblings will do that to you. (Seriously. That's her in-universe backstory. We got a flashback of it. They downplayed the dark and upsetting undertones, but still...)
I'm wondering what exactly pony fundamentalism is like.

However, the Hub not only has My Little Pony, but also Atomic Betty. I haven't seen that in years.

Well, when it comes to dark undertones that they don't really bother with, how about being locked away in the moon for 1000 years when the cure was apparently pretty straightforward?

I don't think we should count that, as executive interference made Lauren Faust change the show from an arc-based magical action girl show into the slice-of-life comedy it became after the pilot. So it's more of a plot thread they were forced to abandon than an oversight.

I'm not neccessarily complaining - I mean, the fallout from 1000 years of imprisonment could lead to very Whedon-esque or Gaiman-esque places.

The character is coming back next season, so maybe they'll deal with it.

Seriously the main cast has had mental breakdowns, I'd be surprised if they did have something.

Also I'm concerned that Celestia is an evil tyrant who solves all her problems by banishing them to the moon.

Well, I'm still going through the first season so I've missed the breakdowns. But wouldn't that be a twist? ;)
