POLL: Your favorite name for the Angels?

As most of us know the baseball team known as the Angels has gone through a few name changes over its lifetime. I'm curious, what are y'all's favorite name that they have had?

(Me, my favorite is California Angels. It just rolls better off the tongue, it has a natural rhythm to the name. Plus one of my favorite country bands, the Derailers, has a song called 'California Angel' but which has nothing to do with the team )

Also, do you think the Angels have any business using Los Angeles in their name when they do not actually play *in* L.A.?

I'm all for originality, but originality in this case would ruin a perfectly good name.

So, California Angels it is. Unless, of course, they want to move back to their original home stadium.

California for me as well, its what I grew up with. I don't mind Los Angeles either, but the LA of A is just a joke. Anaheim Angels sounds a lot like what the Arizona (nee Phoenix) Cardinals did to be at the top of the list alphabetically.

Another vote for the California Angels.

Like most have already said, it was the name of the team when I first got into baseball as a boy, and it really does sound the best.

I don't really mind Los Angeles Angels. However, Anaheim Angels just does not sound Major League, indeed, their uniforms at the time also looked like they belonged in the minors.
And, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, has there ever been a worse sounding named team in MLB history. Obviously chosen by suits who wanted to tap into the vast LA market, while keeping their home townfolks sweet.

^ Actually the only reason they have the name Anaheim at all is because Disney is making them do it. (Disney paid for the renovations, or should I say anti-renovations, to Angel Stadium back when the Rams moved out and the stadium was returned to its baseball-only configuration.)

That was the orginal reason. Disney is no longer involved with the team after selling their stake. The city of Anaheim insisted the city name be present.

I grew up watching the Blue Jays play the California Angels - they should have kept it this way!

As a lifelong Angels fan, I prefer California Angels, although Los Angeles is okay too.

The Anaheim thing has to go. Most teams don't play in the exact city of their name. Hell, the "New York" Jets and the "New York" Giants play in another state!
