As Captain Dago noted, the current Doctor always leads the poll. Even back in the days before the internet.

Well, no, actually. For instance, Doctor Who Magazine does the poll annually, and Tom Baker has been winning since the 1980s, losing only twice through 2006,to Sylvester McCoy in 1990 and David Tennant in 2006; I don't know what happened last year. The current Doctor has an obvious advantage, but not a lock.

Ten - mostly because I've seen more of him.

If I could have chosen two more in succession I would have picked Three and then Two as a close tie, followed by Nine, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, and One.

Of course I've seen most of Three, Two, Nine, and Ten - not so much of the others.

Tom Baker will always be my favorite, as he is the Doctor I watched when I was a kid.

But, I have to say that I loved Chris Eccelston, too, and was very pleased with the new series.

If I had to put them in order, it's be 4, 9,5 and 10. But it's a very close race indeed.

Tom Baker...it was the scarf. He wore it with attitude. Also because I remember him fondly from childhood.

Christopher Eccleston as # 2. His acting is superb.

Patrick Troughton, I think a distant third.
