If anyone here seriously says they're getting the Watch Edition, they are a very lucky, lucky person...that sucker costs like 10 grand...

I'd like one. But not the first model, I usually wait a few generations before getting an Apple product.

I voted the Stainless Steel edition but I'm really on the fence, also considering the Sport. I want a leather watch band with it, I like the look of the Stainless Steel more but if I can put a leather watch band on the Sport, I think thats the one I will go with. I already favorited mine in the App, so I'm gonna go on April 10th and check them out and decide then. I wish they made that Blue Leather watch band for the larger size Watch, because thats the one I would have wanted.

After careful consideration, I will get the Apple watch which most closes resembles my curent Apple product, as I don't own an Apple product it'll be non of them. ;)

Since I'm not upgrading my 4S until September to the 6S, I can't get one at all.

But by the time the 2G watch comes around, there'll be a years worth of feedback on whether they're as useless as they sound.

What would be your guess about Apple Watch and retaining value? As we all know Apple Watch 2 will be out next year. Which do you think would retain their value more, SS vs Aluminum? So what could possibly be a better investment now? Say you would sell this one to help fund the next one.

I'm not getting an Apple watch.

I have spent years training myself to pull my phone out of my pocket when I need to see what time it is, I am not going to go back to looking at my wrist.

Apple must be laughing all the way to the bank knowing there are people who consider their products an "investment".

---------------

I didn't mean investment for the long haul, more of which would I get more money back if I sold it after a year. What kind of depreciation you think we're looking at. Would the Stainless Steel version keep its value better then the Aluminum version?

As an investment, technology items are only as valuable as the base metals they can be melted down to.

I really don't get the hype of what additional functionality over the phone this watch will have outside of being an expensive cardio monitor.

Because of my job, I have had to significantly downgrade the types of watches that I wear since they tend to get wet, so I will definitely not be getting an Apple Watch.

The cheaper one. When the new iPhone comes out, check the trade-in options for the previous model. There's a floor value, and then you add a little more value for the better model, more memory, whatever. It doesn't add at the same rate as you paid upfront, though, so you lost the most money on the expensive one. if you're just going to trade it in, get the cheap one and you'll likely lose less.

That said, not buying one. Looks like an expensive way to not have to pull my phone out of my pocket when it vibrates. Plus battery life is kinda annoying to think about on a watch; now my phone and my watch both die together when I actually use them, more stuff to worry about charging and usage.

Just don't see the value here. If it was usable without the phone, maybe there's a market. As just another screen for the mother device, pass.

And because of where I work, can't have it in the building anyway, so kinda limits my usage even if I was interested...
