who cares what conclusions someone draws from your sex life if you're truly comfortable with it? Rock that sex life! And if people are comfortable with it, why shouldn't we label people sexually? There are things you like to do and people you want to be with, sexually. These are very distinct from the myriad things you don't like to do and the tons of people you would never be with, sexually. Why should we pretend everyone's perfectly and innately bisexual and hedonistic when they're not?

Well said. Labelling is not always stupid. Indeed, it's often true.

Kinsey may have thought (as does a large amount of the propaganda of today) that there is no such thing as 'sexual preference' and that everyone is really bi, but - and I can't bloody believe I'm about to quote FREUD - "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar". Things aren't always as complicated as the sociologists would have us believe.

I guess what really frosts my shorts is when people whose chosen sex partners, relationship forms, marriages, etc. lie outside the norm, decide that this makes them better/more evolved/more sophisticated than the rest of us. As my brother-in-law might say: Bollocks! People who fuck anything that moves aren't better than the more modest among us. Open marriages aren't more evolved or cultured than 'regular' ones. Not all virgins are prudes. Many people really DO like only girls, or only guys, and thus labelling them as such is entirely logical.

In fact, in the end, there is no better or worse. It's what works for each individual that is the important thing.
