I'm currently in a break between exercise regimens. I was all ready do start back up, but I got a sinus infection. :(

If I feel up to it, I want to do 45 min of Tai Chi and 30 min of walking and see if I can build up to more when I'm feeling better next week. :)

I walk a lot mainly because I do not own a car.

I also have an exercise bike but I haven't been using it as much as I should.

I cycle every day for my main training.

I put a rope through some old handlebars and hung them under the stairs and do chin-ups every day with my hands in my riding position. I throw a set of push-ups in between sets of chin-ups just for balance. Then some sets of abs, sit-ups, crunches and leg raises.

I do a yoga set once or twice a week to try to balance out the rest of my body and stay limber, but I'm not as into yoga as I was years ago, so I'm not so flexible anymore.

I used to be workout at the gym in a casual way. But I've recently stepped it up and putting together a full lifting routine, my cardio needs work though.

I've recently decided to take up yoga too. I wanted some more flexibility and good stretching, so it seems like a good choice. But I don't think I'll start that until January.

I do about 15 minutes of hatha yoga every morning to get myself going. I also do 1 hour yoga sessions 2-3 times a week either as a podcast or at Yoga to the People.
I walk home over the Williamsburg bridge most days, about a 5 and a half mile walk. That's in addition to the 5 miles or so I average daily walking to and from train stations and doing errands.
I bicycle when the weather permits, up to 30 miles a day.

I love running, and I'd like to start again, but I get harassed too much by the men in my neighborhood just walking around. I know it's not very strong of me, but I don't know if I could handle them while running.

All this, and I can't drop 10 pounds!

I hate exercise, but loves the way it makes you feel, so it's worth it. Theres nothing like that limber feeling you get in your legs when you run all the time.

I alternate daily between two mile runs and sets of Push-ups, sit-ups, leg lifts etc.

Lately I've been slacking off a bit, and it's starting to show, so I'm getting motivated again. I haven't really put on weight, just lost a bit of muscle and am getting a soft look.

I'm 6'3, 180 pounds, very lean.

Let's see how healthy the Trekkies on Trekbbs are. :)

By the way, how's everyone who exercises gearing up for the winter? Did you take a gym membership or are you determined to stay outdoors?

I exercise quite a bit. Granted, it's not as excessive as it was in college, but I still do my best to go to the gym. My favorite things are:

Running
Lifting (mostly upper body)
Bike riding
Racquetball

Having said that, working an office job I feel like I'm in the worst shape I've been in a long time. I only get to the gym around 3-4 times a week for an hour or two.

In college? I went to the gym everyday and worked out constantly between classes. My diet was generally low-fat/high-protein because I was trying hard to gain muscle. During the summer & winter I'd work in a paper factory, lifting bundles for 10-11 hours a day and go to the gym afterward... nothing I'm doing now could possibly compare.

I'm 24 years old, 6'1, 190 pounds. Decently strong upper body, but I'm starting to feel "softer" than I ever have!

Shouldn't this be in the sports and fitness forum?
It was, but since the question was "Do you exercise?" and most people in Sports & Fitness probably do, it got moved out here for a more accurate representation. :techman:

EDIT- And beat to the punch by RoJoHen!

I have no idea what that means.

Its very similar to RTFM, read the fucking manual, a fond cry of IT fixits. In forum parlance it becomes read the fucking thread, which is not a task to be daunted by when the thread only numbers two pages, one of which being less than full of posts.

I don't exercise on any schedule, but I do get some activity in. It's very sporadic though. I am just way too busy with school, work, and internships and there is literally no time to go to a gym. And I cannot afford it right now anyway. I enjoy walking though, and always take the stairs (9 flights up for one of my classes). I took a couple of badminton courses in college and discovered that it was the only sport I actually enjoy playing. So I try to play that with my boyfriend as often as I can (just played on Friday), though I haven't had much time lately. I used to bike everywhere. Now that I live further away from places I have to drive, but when it gets warmer I plan to bike more again.

Basically I try to get in some activity whenever I have the time, but it's not very structured.

I used to play football all the time when I was younger, but my knees don't work properly anymore, so my answer is no, I don't exercise.

I don't currently have a structured workout schedule, though if circumstances permit I'd like to return to one. I used to compete at a nation level in Olympic style weightlifting, not to be confused with the other of the two weightlifting sports, powerlifting, which focuses on assisted brute strength. Weightlifting is more about performing very powerful, efficient and precise lifts. Now a days my working out is more just matter of lifestyle, enjoying strenuous outdoor activities like canoeing sailing and hiking, walking everywhere I can, climbing random things like ropes, love climbing ropes, dancing in shows I perform in, and just generally trying to put a lot of energy into life.
