Poldark: anyone watching?

OK, I'm a sucker for a decent historical drama and Polark really sucked me in, right from the get-go. Aidan Turner as the lead--a complicated, not-all-that-heroic main character --is fascinating to watch and cuts quite a dashing figure. The rough and brutal life of the people in Cornwall in the late 1780's is certainly not romanticized, when the main characters give voice to worries about lice, or being taxed into starvation. Still, it has its share of romance: the handsome lead, the broken hearts, sweeping vistas, etc, etc. Great character actors like Phil Davis and the late Warren Clarke class up the join by delivering their usual top-notch performances.

I'm totally sold and I really didn't expect to be.

Anyone else watching?

I'm DVR'ing the episodes and will plan on binge watching when me and the wife have time. Glad to hear it's good!

It finished a couple of months ago over here.

Mrs Relayers got the books and original series on DVD. We holiday in Cornwall.

Yeah, Poldark's pretty good.

A lot of stuff happening in this second episode--poor Verity; she gets really short-changed all around. Dumb cousin Francis is REALLY going to hate Ross now. Interesting dynamics happening in Poldark's house with the servants
