"Polaris"

Pre-vis.

It's nice to see some feedback from someone who isn't so close to the production. Glad to hear you liked what you've seen. Like you, I can't wait to see it with FX in place. It really does feel, in tone, like a film from that special era of SF movies. I miss that tone.

I'm glad to give it. It's an intrepid effort (oh, I love a good pun!). I must say, Nick, that I enjoyed your performance. You gave your lines the right amount of bite without having them come across as pure vitriol, which those lines in another person's hands could've been easily done.

Actually, Middyseafort saw the edit was up in Final Cut, and hit me with a shillelagh. When I came to he'd watched the whole thing. Good thing I hadn't edited in the climax yet. Denied! :)

All kidding aside, the feedback's been good so far, even though no one ever loves the rough cut.

I'm always cut off at the climax ... oh, wait, that doesn't sound right.

But thank you for seeking out my feedback. I'm happy to have given it.

Thanks, middy. I'm really pleased - and more than a little relieved - that you liked it so much. :)

You're one of the first, if not the first, person not associated with the production to have seen the rough cut.

Dennis, I'm very happy and grateful that I've been one of the first to see the rough cut. This is going to be a hoot. And I'd love to see you guys be able to take what you've done and use it to produce more, either POLARIS or another venture.

But most of all, I can't wait to see the finished edit!

Wait ... what did I spoil, oh man of many ranks?

Or was that just a request to Maurice about his answer?

What Deckerd said. So far the team has kept things pretty well under wraps, revealing only the rough outlines of the premise, which is great. I'm looking forward to this project.

Whatever that scene is, it looks like it could be important. :)

That's a great image.

People spending 150 million dollars to make a movie that everyone in the world is trying to find out about need to worry about "spoilers." We welcome most any useful attention we get. ;)

Looks like the Krell of the Polaris universe need to go on a diet! ;)

The arches in that concept render remind me of those depicted in "Forbidden Planet", only much wider.

Sincerely,

Bill

Well, the rows of arches going off into the distance reinforce the "Krell" thing a bit - they were an experiment, and I'm leaning away from them now.

I'd consider making the openings on each side slope down so that you have to walk UP into the room.
