Whatever could have possessed me to promote a Star Trek website on a Star Trek forum, especially by the dastardly maneuver of posting on topic! Seriously, I often find myself behind the times. However old the thread is, I came upon the topic web searching and it piqued my interest.
So, what defines SPAM? The means, being automated proliferating off topic, with meta-information deliberately obscured, or the ends, being promotional intent? Because if the latter, if guilt is by the intended ends rather than the means, then by extension of the same logic, a peaceful activist is the same as a terrorist, and a car buyer little better than a car thief!
Actually, I maintain a FAQ page discoursing upon salient questions of SPAM, but bow I dare not link thereto!)
Since when are fanfic writers forbidden to link to their own work?? How intolerant is thatThe thread in question is: http://trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=53888&page=2 I take it that links to other posts within this forum are still permissible.
