It's nice when a film or television show comes out that doesn't use Star Trek or Trekkies as the butt of jokes.
My wife's teenage brother is on the spectrum (diagnosed with Asperger's) and, as I've gotten to know him over the years and how his mind works, it's been interesting seeing how folks on the spectrum are presented in media. Positive representation has become so much more important to me over the years.
I've heard some concerns that this movie isn't necessarily an accurate portrayal, but I'm neither an expert nor have I seen the movie to judge it. I look forward to watching this movie.
Gotta say I’m not too jazzed about this character’s condition seems to be more psychotic with her screaming in the trailer, but that’s a role I think Fanning has been fit to play since she was a child. She was somehow always cast as a “cute” kid.
Probably not a popular opinion, but I’d rather see a movie about whoever wrote the first slash fiction and not some “Spock visiting Deep Space Nine” fan fiction.

This looks excellent.
Saw the trailer. I think it looks very interesting. Love that Alice Eve is in it! 
The deal about the fits can go either way. I don't think that i throw fits, or rather that I don't display furstration in a more unhealthy way than other people. I just watched the preview about 10 minutes ago. The line about getting the story told or whatever seemed kind of pat, but I've actually said something similar, and I'm a writer with Aspergers.
I thought this little movie was so heart-warming, and also funny. As usual, Dakota Fanning was excellent.
^ I thought it was really good. A bit on the quirky side. Definitely worth watching at least once.
I think chances are good that I will check it out.
