PLEASE help with frustrating computer problem

I downloaded video from my phone to a memory card, put it into the adaptor, plugged it into my computer, downloaded the videos to my computer. The videos play fine, but there's no audio! The audio for everything else works on my computer, but I can't get any sound from these videos that were recorded with audio and played the audio while on my phone.

What video player software do you use?

Have you tried VLC Player?

If you use Windows, you can open your video file in G-Spot and identify the codecs, that are used within that file.

Thanks a lot for the help, you two. I've established, I think, with the Gspot, that it is a codec problem and have discovered audio will play with Quicktime. I just don't know how to get the codec to work in Windows Media Player.

Can't remember the last time I used WMP -but it's several years ago :rommie:

DL and install a better media player, like the above mentioned VLC (and/)or Media Player Classic -they both come with a lot of nice codec's and are (imho) better media players.

Or you can trans-encode (is that even a word?) with "SUPER ©".

I use VistaCodecs (not Windows "Vista").

Everything I have ever tried plays on WMP 11 or 12.

You have to "tell" it to play various formats under WMP the first time.
