Does anybody else find this tagged to the bottom of email signatures to be annoyingly snooty? It reminds me of the South Park episode about people driving hybrid cars...

No not snooty but I usually ignore it anyway. As much as I love trees...and all kinds of them (LOL) I just have to print most of my work emails..it's necessary to get the job done effectively.

I don't print emails often, but when I do, there's a good reason for it. Thinking about the environment isn't going to change that.

Now, inventing smart paper which you can transfer an email to electronically and then clear when you're done with it....that would help the environment.

I avoid printing whenever possible. Unfortunately, this company is very paper-happy. Everyone here prints out their emails in full color. I can't wrap my head around it.

The message doesn't bother me, and actually I find it a nice little reminder as to whether I really do need to print the email. I used to print a lot of emails to put in client files. These days I save 'em instead.

The note doesn't bother me, but we do have to print off a fair amount to keep officially on file. At least our printers automatically do double sided for most things.

Like Robert Maxwell mentions though, a few of the people print stuff off in full colour when it really isn't necessary

I come from the "if it isn't on paper it doesn't exist" generation, so I probably print far more than I need to (never in color though).

I'll admit the quality of this thread is pretty low-- though better than the average "omg I'm a horny teenage virgin" thread.

It's not that little line but our huge mandatory email signature for legal reasons.

It has the usual contact information of me, i.e. telephone number, email,adress etc.. easily 10 lines including breaks and the usual Kind regards.

Then comes the legal mumbo jumbo.. "We work according to [german logistics standard legal clauses] and are only responsible for damages up to.. etcblabla"

Then a few lines who's currently on top of our company etc.

So i get an email with about 5 lines or so but if i were to print it i'd always get 2 pages which is quite annoying and a real waste.
