Playmates Toys

Love all these! My guess for the TOS two-pack is either Pike and Number One from The Cage, or perhaps Arex and M'Ress.

Captain Proton is a great idea - a Proton mini-wave with Chaotica, Arachnia, Proton and Satan's Robot was one of the suggestions I emailed in.

No sign of Rocket Boots Spock or Go Climb A Rock Kirk yet, sadly. Maybe Wave 6!

Yeah, I love the mini-waves. The TNG crew from the Generations Holodeck scene…Geordi, Worf and now Data.

We’ve got David and Carol Marcus with Saavik

Mirror Archer and now Mirror Hoshi

Anyone know when pre-orders are going live for wave 2? I haven't seen anything here or elsewhere.

Hopefully soon. I think they said they want to release 2 waves per year. So wavec2 would be early to mid ‘26 with wave 3 around Christmas time like wave 1. I’m a bit surprised it’s not up yet since the wave was announced 3-4 months ago.

The only thing I don't like is Nog's very noticeable zipper. Make it black or take it out...

Also from MR:

Janeway and Nog are handpainted prototypes, so I wouldn't worry about any specific details.

The MR figures look a lot better there than in some of the promo images. Love the Lower Decks gang!

I thought about making a dirty "Sub Rosa" joke, but I'll restrain myself.

I remember when figures were $10 and that was expensive. But that Wave 3 is very tempting.

The other question is: buy them and open them or leave them in the packaging?

I may have found the reason for the Galoob "Mr. Speck" Data:

The licensee artwork guide says these are his skin colors, beige with darker specks!
So Galoob just followed Paramount's parameters, and the real specks used in the makeup were simply much smaller compared to the whole head on the full sized actor than they could be on the very scaled-down figure.

I'm rather unimpressed with Master Replicas' Picard figures, in comparison to what Nacelle is doing with their live-action merch.

I know Hot Wheels got a tad burned… but instead of just using molds they already had—they inflict this on us:

I am going to be sick.

I notice it's labelled as "Captain Kirk", but the toy clearly depicts Admiral Kirk from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.

I hope someone got fired for that blunder.
It's like that bit in Babylon 5, it's closing the breach in reality that was opened when the Generations figure of him was labeled "Admiral Kirk."

I very nearly bought one of those. Not sure why.

*shrug*

I think… it’s cool?

I do. I think it’s cool.
