Playmates Toys

The DST ones were much more detailed and accurate, but they were aimed at adult collectors. The electronics were more delicate and haven't lasted as well in my experience.
This. The electronics in my DST Enterprise-D no longer work, no matter what I try. At least the thing still looks damn good as part of my Enterprise display, along with the DST NX-01, TOS-E, Refit, Ent-B, Ent-E, and the Playmates Kelvin E.

I've also got the DST Ent-A and the Cage TOS-E signed by Sean Kenney, the South Bend Refit, and most of the Playmates Enterprises stored somewhere.

Hoping beyond hope to get the DST Ent-C so my Enterprise display isn't missing a slot.

Yeah. I got mine second hand and it never worked quite right. The speaker is dreadful and the saucer separation sound was always very erratic. It's now given up entirely. At least the lights still work via the button on the battle section.

On the plus side, as you say it's a lovely static model (except for the garbage stand). And those magnets connecting the ship are insanely strong. I've got it next to the Eaglemoss XL TOS Enterprise and Voyager, and the regular Defiant, which makes them roughly in scale.

If they did another run and retooled the electronics, I might be interested in a replacement.

Don't get me started on that damn stand. I had a scar for a few years on my thumb because the bigger of the two stands it came with snapped in half and when I went to glue it back together, the two ends slipped and drove the knife-like broken edge right into my thumb.

Something I just noticed--I just held the recently released Playmates Enterprise up at not quite a 3/4 view---and (just eyeballing it)--it looks to match TAS profile with the longer shuttlebay.

I know TAS rotoscoped The Cage/ 11 footer, but the side view most often seen is its own beast.

I wonder if DST's TOS offerings are closer to Masao's than Casimiro/Kerr.

More new figures coming

I'd love a Janeway figure at an affordable price, don't get me wrong, but they don't seem to want to touch anything from the streaming era.

Edit: OK, scratch that, it does say "and more". Plus I didn't actually see Voyager in that list either

What's 1/12 scale? 12 inches?
6 inches tall, or at a twelfth of the size of an average person.

What an odd press release. Why say you're putting out figures from over the 60 years of the franchise, when you're really just doing the first 40-ish years?

But, given they invoke that Center Seat documentary, which did the same thing, I'm not surprised.
