Playmates Toys

The Zero figure from Prodigy is listed up on Amazon but it’s currently out of stock. It’s the only one from the line so far but maybe this will follow the same path the Universe line did where half of them show up on Amazon first.

So I finally saw the TNG and TOS movie Playmates figures in person at a local Wal-Mart. To my eye, they look a bit cartoony but in a different way from the 90s figures. The torsos seem too bulky while the legs are too skinny. And Data's hands are comically tiny. What's up with that? Somehow Spock's gloves don't seem quite as ridiculously big in person compared to the photos.

I have not seen them in any Targets yet, either. If there is a Wal-Mart in your area, I would suggest taking a look there.

Did the Target run yesterday with no luck. Walmart has been lacking as well. So, my area is probably going to get zero.

Refuse to shop online unless absolutely necessary when it comes to action figures. Prefer to see them in hand before purchasing.

I understand. "Collectables" need to be hand picked.

I am loath to buy food online for the same reason. I squeeze my own tomatoes, thank you.

Toys though... eh. So long as they are not broken right out of the box.

It's a weird thing for me, one that is quite irrational that I can't completely overcome. I want to hold it in hands, see it in person, etc. before I make the decision. So, it's one thing if I have seen the figure before in person, like say a friend has it, then I might purchase it online with a little more confidence. But, if it's brand new then I prefer to see it first.

It's a weird place for me that I haven't quite overcome. I do appreciate the link, but I just have less trust in online ordering. But, that comes from ordering building supplies online and not getting them because the store's inventory was off. That hurt.

I get that, but, if it helps, if online is the only option for acquiring an item, you could try one and if it's unacceptable, return for replacement or refund.

As many times as you want or need to be happy. 100% satisfaction is usually an online shopping feature as much (or more) as shopping in person.

Crap, :shifty: now I sound like a damn salesman. I am out.

If online is the only option I'm good without it.

I'm a ten year retail veteran and have little issue with returns. I also have no desire to repeat it until I'm satisfied. I'm more satisfied not worrying about getting an item I clearly don't need.

Dunno how accurate the info is but apparently the Prodigy line has been delayed to Summer ‘23.
