Playmates' Design An Alien Contest for Star Trek DS9

I just received today from my uncle who lives in Arizona a huge box full of Playmates Star Trek figures, still in their original packaging. He found them when he was helping his girlfriend clean out her parents' house.

Anyways, on one of the figures is a sticker mentioning a Design an Alien contest, with the winning design to appear on DS9 supposedly. It got me curious, so I looked at Memory Alpha for anything about it, but came up nothing. Does anybody know about this, and what came of it?

That's the neat thing about the Internet, you can always look online and see what became of old contests.

wow that brings back. I remember, I was 8 years old trying to come up with an good alien for that contest.
