try to visualize the living ships that were deployed by the vorlons or that ship from a next gen episode what was that ship called but the betazoid that could fly it was really intent on getting inside that ship.

these are organic ships beyond the relativity class of starship (as seen in voyager a few times) the drive is prepared to take them where they want to go as enacting upon their thought waves at that moment .,, consider the looking glass syndrome or the infinite organic myriad of life experiences possible .

Although temporal contours is just a kind of timescaled display if you will.
