besides humans, what other races are not named after their planet? i've been thinking about this (don't ask) and i can't seem to come up with any besides klingons... unless there's a klingonia.... >_<

I'm guessing the Vorta (OT- I don't think the Vorta are sterile, as mentioned in the article I looked up while researching this post- otherwise by the time the Dominion and the Federation met, you'd think they'd be waaaay farther along than Weyoun 4) and the Jem'Hadar (how much of them was by design and how much by nature we don't really know) and the Tosk probably... the Founders, maybe the Suliban? Oh, and the Horta.

i thought the Borg were from Sweden.....

Where are the Hirogen from? Hirogenia? Of course, Hirogen might not be their species name; it may only be the name of their Hunter Society or whatever.

We don't know about Species 8472, since we only know their Borg designation. I'm surprised Janeway's chat with Boothby didn't involve them saying "quit calling us that. You can just call us _______." Wouldn't it be a coincidence if their planet was called Eight-four-seven-two???

What are the homeworlds of the Malon and Kazon called? I bet Crewman Daniels knows, that sneaky snake!!
