Planet Hulk

Easy... Iron Man, Reed Richards, Black Bolt, and Dr. Strange on the right of Tony.

Black Bolt I wasn't able to identify from the picture alone - The characteristic tuning fork outline on his mask isn't visible. It could be anybody (tho' Black Bolt fits based on the original story and Prelude to Planet Hulk as posted by Hermiod )

Planet Hulk is a 616 story and during it Nick has been undercover for a while I believe...so no that is Blackbolt.

Grade : B+ / A- , with the bonus that either we will see WWH, or this adventure will stand alone as a happy ending for a character that never gets one.

I'll get around to the movie next week, it sounds good so I might buy it

Anyway the story seems to be moving differently to the movie, Hulk spends a lot more time being set up as a savior or a messiah in the comicbook.
His warbound brothers are also in the comic but a big difference people have noted is Beta Ray Bill replacing Surfer
This kinda makes sense and it doesn't, it makes less sense from a character stand point because the Silver Surfer was one of the last friends of Hulk
Marvel's 'illuminati' group, the Sub Mariner, Dr Strange etc were also part of a group called THE DEFENDERS.
For you DC fans the Defenders were once given a tribute in a JL toon where Aquaman, Grundy, Fate and Amazo replaced the classic Marvel team.
Any back to the point all Hulk's Defenders buddies tried to kick him in the teeth but Surfer was the last guy who didn't hit back at Hulk and banish him, he was the last buddy he could count on
When the Silver Surfer turned on Hulk in the battle arena it marked the Hulk's final betrayal and left him with nobody defending him

The only trouble is that in the comic if you looked at it from a boxing perspective it made little sense, Silver Surfer is pretty invulnerable as a fighter.
The Surfer can alter his density to make himself untouchable like Kitty Pride, he can do many of the things Watchmen's Dr Manhattan can do (apart from jiggling his blue testicles around) and Surfer can be a fighter when he wants to be moving as quick as Superman and with a chin of steel
So the writers had to come up with a silly story that took away Silver Surfer's powers and made him fight with a hammer
Hulk almost getting killed by a Silver Surfer with no powers was kinda embarrassing for a warrior brute like Hulk
If Beta Ray Bill replaced Surfer in the battle arena it would make it bit more sense from a boxing perspective

A lot of you guys comment that the violence and story is kind a dark
I haven't watched the movie but IMO the comic would have been darker, there is no happy ending in the comic.
The spaceship that carried Hulk to the planet goes ground-zero, despite his wins in the battle arena he gains little glory
His role as a savior or messiah is debunked, the ship that carried him to the world goes BOOM and most of Hulk's friends, his wife, his child are assumed killed by the explosion
Hulk ends the comic with only one thought going through his mind, get revenge on Prof X, Tony Stark, Doctor Strange, Reed Richards.....He blames all those people for sabotaging the spaceship and nuking his new homeworld
...Namor the SubMariner I don't know why Hullk left him out?
Maybe he new he was too much of a dork with technology to be able to rig a spaceship to blow
Maybe Silver Surfer convinced the Hulk guys who smell of tuna are cool

...I don't know
Hopefully the movie fixes this plot hole or ignores that part of the story all together

having never read the comics pertaining to this and only seeing the movie....
the movie works rather well all by itself....

That's not a plot hole. Namor voted "no" (and left the group), hence, Hulk leaving him alone.

I don't have the back issues handy. Does anyone remember if Hulk caused the ship to go off-trajectory in the comic? Because I didn't remember that and it doesn't really hurt the feature much but it helps to dampen that sense of betrayal/revenge later if they ever did decide to do a follow-up.

I don't recall, but it always was an accident. The Illuminati always intended to send the Hulk to a peaceful, non-inhabited world so that he wouldn't endanger anyone again -- himself included.

I'm almost positive it wasn't the Hulk that made the ship go off course. That was a little dumb because it absolves the Illuminati of some of the guilt.
