You might like this then, the style is from Toei Animation's Captain Future, in the '70's they made an anime series out of the pulp stories, it was incredibly popular in parts of Europe but mainly in Germany.

I use these 6 apps (Android)
They are all Free from Google Play.

1. Photolayers: good for building layers, adjust opacity, cut stuff you dont want etc. Main tool.

2. Neon: For color... I dont use it so much

3. Glitchart: Very funny app, Totaly messes up your images with good variety.

4. Photoshop Express, a very small version of the gigantic big brother, but it is useful.

5. Glitchr: same as nr 3 but not as many options, but can produce interesting resultat.

6. Aviary: A Photoshop clone, interesting filters but also some good tools, cropping, blur/focus, blemish, text etc. Main tool.

Just finished "Lorca" with the apps :
Photolayers, Glitchart, and Aviary.

In the 1970's Toei Animation took the stories of Captain Future and made an anime out of it, this one was exported to Europe at one stage and it became very popular, in Germany they redid all sounds, the music and of course they made a German dub out of it which was incredibly successful, now and then the show was still broadcasted and it remained popular, the style of the old anime is what you see in that trailer, the shape of the Comet, the shape of Grag the robot and the flying saucer which hauses the brain of a scientist who's body has died, the art demonstrator you see in the youtube link is a tryout of SFX for a possible Captain Future movie, a live action one.
