Pirate Planet novelization

Ah, at long last. I had forgotten this one was never adapted (because of Douglas Adams) and it makes sense it's happening now after Shada and City of Death have been adapted (the latter also James Goss).

Interesting it's based on an older, never before seen script. The Pirate Planet has always been a personal favorite, partially because I have such fond memories of watching it as a child.

How different it will be is an interesting question; it's known that in the original storyline, the Time Lords had been mining Zanak for TARDIS minerals, using a pacifier field to control the natives. The Time Lord sent to shut it down made an error and absorbed all the stored agression, causing him to then turn Zanak into a hollow planet he could eventually materialise around Gallifrey to destroy it.
I doubt the book will go back to that version...
