I haven't talked much about Outsourced because it doesn't interest me much, but wow, the comments section is sure rancorous. I wonder if that might be a good sign for the show - controversial, gaining a lot of free attention for the subject matter?
NBC has ordered three more shows for next season, picking up high-concept drama "The Event" as well as comedies "Outsourced" and "Love Bites."
"We love these three shows and it made sense to pick them up right now," said NBC entertainment president Angela Bromstad. "Each of these three series reflects a unique point of view and distinct style of quality that fits perfectly with NBC’s dedication to rebuilding the schedule."
I think some of the comments about Outsourced are right in that I don't think a show on one of the regular broadcast network that looks like it'll have about 90% of the cast being from India, or of Indian descent will work. I hope it does, I'd love to see myself proved wrong and see the viewing public be accepting of other cultures, I doubt it though.
I think it would have been a much better fit on a cable network like USA (if they had another 30min sitcom to pair it with) or paired with It's always Sunny on FX.
I appreciate that NBC is giving it a shot and I hope the show is good, but that it actually succeeds.
Chase is officially on at NBC for next season. The network on Monday handed the hot procedural from Warner Bros. TV and Jerry Bruckheimer a 13-episode series order. Written by Jennifer Johnson, Chase is a thriller about a team of U.S. marshals hunting most-wanted criminals. Kelli Giddish stars, along with Cole Hauser, Jesse Metcalfe and Amaury Nolasco. Johnson is executive producing with Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman. KristieAnne Reed is co-executive producing. David Nutter directed and executive produced the pilot, extending his streak to 16 consecutive pilots picked up to series. Chase joins four other pilots already picked up to series by NBC: dramas Undercovers and The Event, anthology dramedy Love Bites and comedy Outsourced. The network also has a new Law & Order series, L&O: LA, on tap for fall.
Fox just picked up comedy pilots Keep Hope Alive and Traffic Light to series. Dramas Lone Star (form. Midland) and Shawn Ryan's Ridealong also have been ordered. And on the bubble series front, Lie To Me and Human Target both are being renewed for 13 episodes. Word is Chuck executive producer Matt Miller will be joining Human Target as an executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Jonathan Steinberg. As for the remaining Fox pilots in contention, I hear Breakout Kings, which had been competing with Ridealong for a slot, is not looking good despite its high testing marks. Comedies Most Likely To Succeed and Mitch Hurwitz/Will Arnett's Wilde Kingdom are still in the mix.
And another update: ABC has picked up No Ordinary Family.
The Cape? Okay! I wanna see James Frain as a supervillain!
NBC appears to be happy with their pilots. That probably means curtains for Heroes (maybe they'll do a 2- or 4-hr movie wrapup) but Chuck still has a good shot.
David E. Kelley has a new lawyer show "Kindreds" coming to NBC at mid-season.

As a huge fan of Boston Legal I'm hoping this show will have some of that snark and magic.
Also, superhero drama "The Cape" is said to be looking good for a series order.
CBS has picked up the comedy Mike & Molly. NBC has picked up Garza and renewed Chuck. ABC has renewed V and cancelled FlashForward.
