.....Dear god what the hell did the stylist do to Anson Mounts hair for episode 6??? Jesus. The tribbles have nothing on Pikes hair.
Pikes hair really needs it's own episode. Orgin Story and maybe it's own adventure....
Yup I noticed the same thing. The first shot his hair looked way too high. I guess he spends a lot of time combing it before work and trying to find just the right look. Lol
Last night here in Kauai, we had a giant slice of pie that looked just like that.

Then we find out that Pike’s barber *really* is an aged time traveling Kirk, trying to guide Pike with advice in a discreet way because this was one of Spock’s final requests of his former Captain and friend before he ‘died’ as a result of combating Nero. It would just be like how Mot was Picard’s barber.

They are doing similar weird stuff with Spock’s sideburns. It’s like he’s a Vulcan he likes simple and wouldn’t spend time shaving his sideburns into different shapes. The people doing the hair and burns have to really make up their minds how they want these characters to look.
Have you watched TOS? Check out the hairdos on T’Pring and T’Pau. Not exactly simple.
They’ve obviously made up their minds. Pike has a pompadour and Spock has funky sideburns.
That Pompadour should have its own zip code. The burns on spock are a little better now.
I bet Pikes hair evolves more this season and eventually it ends up looking like it did in DISCO. It is fun to watch its evolution. One thing for sure, his hair will be as legendary as Kirk's. If not more so...
