Twas on the cards. From what I heard he and Beth didn't exactly get along with Matt and Steven. That being said I'd heard different and far more fan-wanky name for head of drama.

After watching Beth on the Series Five DVD commentaries she didn't look very comfortable on any of them. Or the interviews. I was wonder if there was some kind of internal conflict.

No, Beth Willis is still there, and Piers Wenger will still be an Executive Producer on Doctor Who, he just won't be Head of Drama at BBC Wales at the same time any more.

IIRC, the rumours about Beth Willis seem to have been part of a sting operation to flush out people working on Doctor Who who were leaking information to Doctor Who websites and the media.

Indeed. Well, maybe, if you consider Doctor Who a fully fledged kids programme

Seriously though, it seems they were getting concerned about big news leaking out just like it did under RTD, they then put out the fake rumours about Beth Willis, and ever since then nothing massive has leaked. Episode details, titles etc. have been kept under wrap where thing like location shoots doesn't prevent it, so it looks like it worked.

After working on the show since Series Two, Peter McKinstry was replaced by R S Williams for Series Six. Although there's nothing to suggest that had anything to do with his website being discovered by intrepid fans.
