It is, and while it doesn't taste anything like beer it keeps the chicken super moist. So for flavor it's better to pick a good rub.

FWIW, I can hardly see any grey in the before shot.

The angle of the shot & your expression in the photo remind me of an English (as in the degree) student I used to know some years ago. She was rather fetching too.
