Well, It's happened again. We've taken in another stray. It's actually kind of a neat story.

Last week as I was walking to work there were a couple of city workers emptying a pipe on the street and as I was walking past them a little kitten of about 4 or 5 months old started walking in my direction from behind a fence.

When it saw me it stopped and just looked at me like it was afraid to come any farther. In fact it looked like it was going to run away but I squatted down anyway and extended my hand and called to it. After a few seconds it let out a loud meow and came towards me and started rubbing against the fence. After a few seconds of this it climbed through the fence and laid down in front of me and let me pick it up.

It started purring right away and cuddled right up to me. Then it climbed up onto my shoulder and sat on it just like my own cat Gimli used to do as a kitten. It pressed itself into the side of my head all the while purring loudly. One of the workers asked me if I was afraid to get flees but I said no and pointed to my bald head.

Eventually the cat got a bit restless so I was going to squat down to let it jump off my shoulder but one of the workers said "Let me take over" and took it off my shoulder.

After that I continued on my way to work. For the rest of the week I looked for her as I walked to work but I never saw her again.

This morning when I got to work a woman in the office next to me came into my office and said "There's another one". Right away I knew she meant a cat was hanging around outside in the courtyard because we had a resident cat at work over the summer who sadly was struck down by a car.

I went down with her to see the cat and couldn't believe it. It was the same kitten from last week! I was pretty amazed becasue my place of work is a good ten minutes away from where I saw her the first time.

Right then and there I knew I was not letting her back on the street. She is just too nice not to have a good home. Now I just hope I can find her one before I can't give her up!

Anyway, I know this is a long post for a picture thread but I just thought it was a cool story. Here are a few photos I took of her tonight.

Here she is sizing up my full grown male cat. At aproximately 4 months old she actually has both my cats scared of her! Oh, and did I mention she looks exactly like my own two cats?
